My purpose of writing this is to share some information which can be useful to all.
A story by a person....for all of us.
A story by a person....for all of us.
We are recovering from the loss of my (Amit Vastrad) wife's cousin, Shweta, aged 24 yrs. A doctor, by profession in Apollo Hospital, Bangalore. Still unable to believe she is not along with us. She died from worms getting into her body mainly attacking brain & damaging it. Firstly I never believed how in the world can worms get into brain. But later got to know this from the doctors giving treatment to Shweta. Worms had eaten her brain and made their homes and accommodated there. Slowly each part of her body stopped functioning. Finally she gave up the struggle and died on May 08th 2008.
Shweta was staying in a hostel in Malleshwaram and used to eat the hostel food from last 1 year. After identifying this disease she was treated but so unfortunate she could not survive. You call this as her bad luck or ignorance; her body had contaminated food & water. One in 10,000 cases, the worms travel into the brain, heart and lungs. They enter in the form of eggs (invisible to naked eyes) through food & water.
A little bit of hygiene & precaution is what required by the people who mostly eat outside. I am not trying to scare you all but to make you aware and take possible precautions.
I thought these links may be useful to understand and take precautions for getting rid of worms.
Please pass this message to people you feel should know this.
